Connie’s PhD thesis examined the Impact of an early version of Social Stencil as part of her PhD. This study examined the impact of teaching social-emotional skills over 12 weeks in classrooms. The results indicated that;

  • students improved in encoding social cues (visual and auditory/overt and subtle).

  • students that choose submissive problem solving strategies pre-intervention, choose help-seeking strategies post-intervention.

  • students that choose help-seeking problem solving strategies pre-intervention, choose assertive strategies post-intervention.

  • students that choose assertive problem solving strategies pre-intervention, choose assertive strategies post-intervention.

  • All students increased in positive, helpful self-talk post-intervention
