An Evidence-based Social Skills Program that can teach our young clients about friendship, conflict, and managing relationships.

Social Stencil can be used as a tool to assist counsellors, psychologists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists when supporting young people.

Social stencil for counselling

For children with social difficulties, or experiencing difficulties managing peer relationships, Social Stencil can be delivered to small groups as a prevention or early intervention program.

The program can be taught to young clients during individual counselling sessions. The anchor charts are particularly useful to help visually anchor children to the strategies for enhancing their skills.

Social Stencil as an individual counselling tool brings a shared language between you and your client, with a focus on personal struggles with friendships or peers. The strategies and social skills training within the program can be explored at an individual pace, to support development of expertise.

The Social Stencil program does not need to be delivered in the prescribed sequence when used in a one to one context. The clinician can decide what sessions and the order most pertinent to their young person, to best support their needs.

The online Social Stencil course provides all of the materials you need, ready to read, print and share.
